Vedalam - Review

What else can hardcore Ajith fans expect from their favourite hero's film ?.
Unlimited action, punchlines and scenes glorifying Ajith makes up the movie.
The story of a brother who takes revenge for his sister's plight forms the crux of Ajith's Vedalam. A shrews Siva has packed the movie with action, masala and comedy to make it entertaining.
Produced by S Aishwarya, the movie has Shruti Haasan, Lakshmi Menon, Ashwin, Soori and Kovai Sarala to its cast. A trio of North Indian looking baddies make up the movie.
A soft-spoken and innocent Ganesh (Ajith) enters Kolkata with his sister Tamizh (Lakshmi Memon) and the latter gets admitted at a college in the city. There begins the tale. Froma calm taxi driver, he turns a killer. One and more murders leaves him face-to-face with dread international drug cartel owner Rahul. There is a flashback that reveals why a local goon Vedalam turned Ganesh. He has a reason to do this after he meets Thamizh. The rest is all but mindless action and revenge drama.
Ajith with his charming smile and pulsating action sequences, steals the show.
Shruti plays an advocate and her role is small. The entire movie is largely carried on Ajith's shoulders. Lakshmi Menon doe get more screen space.
Kabir Duhan Singh and Rahul Dev done well as the bad guys. Anirudh is the rockstar of the movie. His BGM and the songs have turned out to be toe-tapping. Siva has given in right mix what Ajith fans want.
All said, a feel of rehash of many mass masala movies prevails here and there. But on the whole for an Ajith-fan, it is perfect outing.
