Saagasam - Review

06 Feb 2016
Actor Prashanth has made his appearance on screen after a long time with Saagasam. Australian actress Amanda plays his lady-love. The action-comedy directed by Arun Raj Varma is produced by Thiagarajan. Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Vamsi Krishna, MS Bhaskar, Nalini, Robo Shankar and others are in the cast. It has S Thaman's music, Shaji Kumar's cinematography and Zashi Omer's editing. The remake of Telugu film Julai, the story revolves around Ravi (Prashanth), who is an intelligent youngster who doesn’t believe in the concept of working hard for long term profits. His father Nassar is against this attitude and believes in hard work. Ravi crosses the path of Bittoo (Sonu Sood) accidentally, while the latter is about to commit a bank robbery. As Bittoo swears revenge on Ravi. The latter falls in love with Amanda. Bittoo then makes his own plans to extract revenge and starts working with MLA (Kota Srinivasa Rao). The rest of the story is about how Ravi and Bittoo face off. A special performance by Nargis Fakhri has managed to sizzle audience on screen. She is a treat to watch on screen with Prashanth. Although the main essence of the movie has been retained from the original, there are small hiccups that do not match the scene or the character. Prashanth who was seen after a long time on big screen has put on lots of weight. His image has matched the role he plays in the movie. The movie has all the ingredients that regular audience love to see on screen, but not make much impact.
