19 Feb 2016

Taking a break from some of the serious movies that hit the screens recently is Navarasa Thilagam. Starring video jockey turned actor Ma Ka Pa Anand and Srushti Dange in lead roles, the movie promises to be full length comedy flick. Directed by Kamran, the film revolves around Murthy (Ma Ka Pa Anand). A happy go luck guy, Murthy, who irresponsible lands him in trouble. He exploits most of this father Pannerselvam's (Ilavarasu) wealth by trying to do business. He is accompanied by his friend Alankaram (Karunakaran), who is his business partner. Their 'normal' lives take a turn when Murthy sees Chitra (Srushti Dange) and falls for her. He tries all means to win her over and even visits her house for the purpose. Chitra, a medical student eventually falls for Murthy. Things take a turn when Murthy stops Chitra's sister wedding and all hell is let lose. Besides Ma Ka Pa Anand and Srushti Dange, the movie boasts of some big names like Karunakaran, Jayaprakash, Ilavarasu and Mahadevan. Music by Siddharth Vipin is loud and emotional. With a boy next door look, Ma Ka Pa Anand has carried off his role pretty well. Dance sequences have been made in such a way to suit his character. Srushti Dange although appears through out the movies has been portrayed as cute and bubbly. Karunakaran's sidekick role suits him well. But it has been seen one two many times. Siddharth Vipin's tries to tickle your funny bone. And with veterans Ilavarasu and Jayaprakash adding to the flow, Navarasa Thilagam is partly enjoyable. Produced by Sudharsan Vembutty, Navarasa Thilagam, is comedy that tried to make the audience laugh. Navarasa Thilagam - Mixed with laughter
