Kodi Movie Review & Rating

28 Oct 2016
A touchy story line which would have gone wrong had the treatment lacked perfection. But kudos to director Senthilkumar, who in his third film managed to get the grip of commercial cinema and laced a political satire with all saleable ingredients like action, humour and romance. Kodi is a film that carries a social message. Starring Dhanush in dual roles for the first time, it features Trisha and Premam fame Anupama Parameshwaran as heroines. Set in a rural milieu, where innocence takes centre stage than vengeance, Kodi speaks about aspirations of two youngsters to make it big in politics. Dhanush does full justice and carries the entire movie in his shoulders. The best part is that he looks to be back in his prime form. At ease in his role(s). And as ruthless politician Kodi and a college lecturer Rishi. Add to the story two young girls (one Trisha who plays an aspiring politico who changes her true colour in greed) and another a vendor (Anupama). The tribulations in the lives of these four make up the movie. Trisha walks past her rolw with such ease. With enough avenues to perform in the tricky character, she does it well. Anupama is pretty and does pulls it off in style. Music by Santosh Narayanan is a major strength. However the real winner is Dural senthilkumar's writing. Without taking much sides or a tacky portions, he gives it his best. Kodi is a colourful flag and is sure to entertain and engage masses.
