What is the connection between a Queen, a warrior and a black-magician ?. This forms the crux of directed Gokul's Kashmora. Featuring Karthi, Nayanthara and Sri Divya in key roles the movie has a mix of horror and comedy. Kashmora (Karthi) is a fraud. He calls himself a black magician and cheats people using their fears and ignorance. He makes them believe that he has supernatural powers, but, when the whole plot is planned by him. He comes up with solutions that provides belief to his customers. One day a local politician Dhanakoti seeks Kashmora's help. He send him all the documents and money along with gold and diamonds to his house to save them from the sight of Income Tax officials. Kashmora tricks him and runs away with them. He is aided by his family, who also run with him. They then get trapped in a old palace of Rathna Mahadevi (Nayanathara). Clueless why they landed they, Kashmora tries to untangle himself and his family from the mystery. How they escape from the palace and the fiery warlord Rajnayak forms the rest of the movie. One good thing about the movie is its plot. It has been well written and gives equal importance to all the characters. Gokul's making of the flick seem to have become a plus for the movie. He has done a decent work with the screenplay, that makes the movie a good watch. Karthi who is experimenting with multiple roles has excelled. He is fierce-some, angry and comical throughout the movie. His screen space is marvelous and the actor has proved himself again. Nayanthra who plays the Queen in the flick suits her character. She has some action sequences which are worth mentioning. Well there is no romance between the two, which is bit disappointing. Sri Divya is a charm. The pretty lady is seen with her usual bubbliness and aura. Actor Vivekh has always proved his worth. He too has a strong role that remain almost throughout the flick. Some of the key elements are the camera angles by Om Prakash and good music. All credit to Santhosh Narayanan for the back ground score and tracks. Kashmora is a good fantasy flick that has a good combination of horror and comedy.
