Joker Movie Review

At a time when masala and horror films sell in the market, here is a contemporay movie that attempts break the shakes of the society and question it. Directed by Raju Murugan, Joker is a political satire. It has Somasundaram of Jigarthanda fame play the lead. Sean Roldon is scoring the music. SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures have produced it. Ramya Pandian plays the female lead. The movie revolves around Mannar Mannan (Guru Somasundaram), a middle-aged man, who works in a water company. A very practical person he questions the loopholes of democracy and government rule in day to day life. He faces oppositions in various forms. The police officials and public consider him as mental. They fail to overlook the deeper meaning of his questions. His attempts to becoming a responsible citizens faces various crunch and this has been portrayed in a simple way. The rest of the story is about why Mannar feel responsible as a citizen and why he questions the government ? Filled with emotions, the movie has been smartly whipped up to suit the mood of the present generation of audience. Joker is a bold attempt of talking politics, which many detest. The bold script portrays the situation of our country even after 70 years of Independence. There is no dearth of emotions in the entire flick, however, the second half has more expression. The love portions between Somasundaram and Ramya Pandian is cute and bonding. Sean Roldan's music is big advantage to the script. The visuals are neat and shows the beauty of the place. This satirical comedy is a good attempt by the makers.
