Iru Mugan Movie Review

09 Sep 2016
Vikram and Arima Nambi fame Anand Shankar come together to render an action packed espionage thriller in Iru Mugan. Vikram plays a a dual role that of an eccentric scientist and a macho man on a mission. Nayanthara and Nithya Menen are heroines, supported by Karunakaran, Thambi Ramaiah and veteran Nasser. Iru Mugan revolves around a greedy scientist Love (Vikram) who is also a chemical drug manufacturer in Malaysia. He plans to unleash a potent adrenal drug called 'Speed' in the market. If inhaled it makes one invincible and terrorist group across the globe are willing to pay billions to acquire it. One fine day, the Indian embassy in Malaysia is attacked to demonstrate the powerful effect of the drug and several lives are lost. RAW agents Akilan (also Vikram), who has a history with Love, and Aarushi (Nithya Menen) are entrusted with the job of finishing Love and saving the planet. How they manage to pull it off forms the rest. Vikram as Akilan and Love is good. He is cool and comfortable as Akilan performing dardevil stunt sequences. As Love, Vikram does it in style. His dialogue delivery is good. Calm and cool, with his evil smile, Vikram keeps you entertained. Nayanthara has some action scenes. Nithya Menen has little to do she manages to hog attention. Thambi Ramaiah as a Malaysian police official adds some fun. Harris Jayaraj's Halena...song is one of the super hit of 2016. The director is ably assisted by cameraman RD Rajasekar Release by Auraa Cinemas, Produced by Shibu Thameens, Iru Mugan is an action avatar and is engaging all the way.
