Jackson Durai Movie Review

Horror does not seem to be take a back seat in Tamil film. This is proven by Dharanidharan, whose movie Jackson Durai hit the screens this weekend. Written and directed by Dharanidharan, the movie stars Sibiraj, Sathyaraj and Bindu Madhavi in lead roles. Karunakaran, Yogi Babu and ‘Mottai’ Rajendran play important roles. Centered around a ghost, the movie revolves around the village of Ayanapuram comes under paranormal activities. The inmates there don't venture out into the night after 9 am. Bullet Satya (Sibiraj) is a police officer. He is sent by his higher officials to investigate as to what happen in the village. An unpopular officer Satya, who was on a search for a bride, lands in this village. In his quest, he meets Viji (Bindhu Madhavi) and falls for her. Viji's father, who is also the village's president (Shanmugha Sundaram) comes to know of Satya's interest. Apparently there is one of Viji's relative who wants to marry. So Viji's father lays before the two men a contest. He asks both Sibi and Karuna to stay in the haunted bungalow in the village for few days and that whoever makes it alive out of the place will get to marry his daughter. Now, Jackson Durai (Sathyaraj )houses this haunted bungalow. It is due to this ghost's presence that villagers restrain themselves from going out after dark. The rest of the story is about how the duo survive the ghost and how Satya marries Viji. Sathyaraj as usual has rocked his role. His gigantic physic has made his ghost role look larger than life. In this attempt at such a concept, the actor has scored well. His son, Sibiraj also scored in his character what it needs. The actor has done his part as an police office well. Karunakaran's timing comedy makes the audience for relaxing in the scenes. Mottai Rajendiran not utilized fully in the movie. Bindhu Madhavi looks so cute in half-saree, but love portions between Sibi and Bindhu in a limited scenes. Adding more flavour to the whole story is Siddharth Vipin's music and Yuvraj's camera handling techniques. In short, Jackson Durai is another horror comedy thriller that provides entertainment.
