Adra Machan Visilu Movie Review
08 Jul 2016
Thiravannan's Adra Machchan Visilu is about a top actor and his ways. It revolves around youngsters and their admiration for film stars. 'Powerstar' Srinivasan plays an actor and he is called as 'Powerstar' on screen, while Mirchi Shiva is his ardent fan. The encounters between the two make up the movie. Adra Machchan Visilu also has Naina Sarwar, Sentrayan, Singamuthu, Selva Bharathi and Arun Balaji in key roles. Music is by Rahunanthan and cinematography by Kashi Vishwa. What happens when a popular actor takes a ride on his fans ?. This is the crux of the movie. Sekar (Siva) is a die-hard fan of Powerstar (Dr Srinivasan). He celebrates him everyday along with his friends Babu (Senrayan) and Rahamad (Arun Balaji). They spend all their money in erecting cut-outs for their favourite star. One fine day, they decide to distribute the film of their star and pay money for it. As it happens, the movie fails to draw crowds and the trio becomes debtors. They come to Chennai to meet 'Powerstar' and get compensation. But it is rejected by the actor. They vow to teach him a lesson. How they do it forms the rest. Siva's one-liners are good. Both Sentrayan and Arun Balaji are okay. Powerstar with his buffoonery acts doesn't evoke laughter. Singamuthu and Selvabharathy have a part to play. Seemingly inspired by the incidents after Lingaa fiasco, the director has stitched a story. Sadly, it is far from convincing and it has been handled in an amateurish manner. A picture-in-picture, it is an one-sided narration that fails to evoke any interest. Cast and Crew Artistes - Mirchi Siva, Power Star, Naina Sarwar, Sentrayan, Arun Balaji and others.
